Diogo Vasconcelos
Diogo Vasconcelos is an Electrical and Computer Engineer with international experience in the automotive sector in Portugal, Brazil and Germany (2001-2004). He joined EEM – Empresa de Electricidade da Madeira, S.A. in 2004, where he initially worked across several areas, including renewable energy, sustainability, and natural gas (LNG). Over the years, he has developed a strong focus on electric mobility and the management of EU co-funded innovation projects. Within EEM’s Studies and Planning Directorate (DEP), his work focuses on the stability, flexibility, and resilience of non-interconnected island power systems, with particular emphasis on the integration of energy storage. He has been actively involved in the deployment and dissemination of large-scale BESS solutions in Madeira and Porto Santo, acting as Project Manager (PM) and contributing to technical workshops and knowledge-sharing initiatives. He is an enthusiast of technology and innovation at the intersection of energy and mobility.
